Dear Claudia Lyrics

dear claudia, you should try not to sleep with your best friends boyfriend
you've come so far since that time when you let your first boy in
and you do it so carelessly
as if you had no self esteem
a victim of apathy but you don't care what people say about you
i will let you in before you break yourself
its true that you like to sleep around
enjoy it with your backside on the ground
but you should know that its not your fault
your father killed himself
dear claudia, you leave pieces of you in each bed you lay in
and when you're done there will be somebody else wearing your skin
I will lay your fears right here next to mine
and when we close our eyes we'll be entwined
little claudia
you must find another
you must forgive yourself
cause its not your fault I killed myself
little claudia
I will forgive you

I love this song so much. The lead singer's voice is so great in the song. I think it's about a girl whose father killed himself and after that she just let go. She started to sleep around. Her father kept trying to tell her that she needs to forgive herself, he forgave her. He also was telling her that it's not her fault he killed himself.

Anyone else ever gonna comment?

Love the song. When it first started getting played on the radio, it fit perfectly into a situation that was going on with her. No explanations, but very ironic for the family.

Not quite the right meaning. It's very obvious, though. It's from the point of view of a brother, or friend, et cetera.

Also, I;m pretty sure this is a screwed up version of the lyrics, or maybe not the whole song, or something. It just reads weird. Doesn't go with the song. Whatever. I'm insane anyways, why should it matter?

Yeah. Tired, pessimistic me, stopping talking now.

Uh... Did I really write the comment above mine? Seriously, I must have been pretty damned high up on insomnia, jeez...

By her, I meant my sister. She was having some trouble with a friend of hers whose attitude bears a strong resemblance to that of "Little Claudia". Just ignore the paragraph I put after that. Incomprehensible, practically. Also ignore the paragraph after that. I was extremely tired when I wrote the comment, don't blame me. ^_^ Have fun, all.

This is a great song that sadly I can very much relate to you. Are the rest of their songs like this?

Okay, this is the only SouthFM song that I've had the chance to listen to, however I like it a lot. The singers voice is very good, and the music behind..anywho, what I'm mean as short as possible is: it's a kick ass song

i heard on the radio once that this song is actually sypposed to b about a father writing a letter to his daughter. the father has aids and is warning his daughter that if she doesnt stop she'll end up like him

My friend knows I'm really into...actually, completely obsessed with music, so she introduced me to South FM, and I completely fell in love with their sound.

This song shows how deep of a bond the father and daughter really had, but how the girl didnt really bother to notice, so she just kept sleeping with guys. Finally, the father wrote her a letter of how he had AIDS and how it wasn't her fault he had the disease. However, he pleaded that she would stop "sleeping around" so she wouldn't kill herself as her father had. Such a deep song...

I've loved the song and the band every since I heard this song a year or two again during a vacation.

It's obvious it was about a girl who had problems, and sleeping around was a way to cope. My friend had come up with ideas that the song was from a friend who was telling her it wasn't her fault that her father killed herself, or that it was about her father. But I'd never thought that it was about her father had AIDs and didn't want her to end up with him.
