Tomb 19 Lyrics

Tomb 19 was sacred 1000 years or more
The Mayan king was restless a curse upon the door
His shrouds of royal fabric his journey to be made
To offer spirits good and evil 14 beads of sale

The jade had ancient power or so beliefs allege
To anyone who plundered they would drive him to the edge

If you take the treasures of Tomb 19
Let the curse remind you
Take the treasures of Tomb 19
But never look behind you

This one is a bit cryptic. But knowing the band and how they like their allegorical lyrics to condense heavy philosophical meaning into a few paragraphs, I'd say my interpretation isn't that long of a shot.

The song tells the story of all of us, looking within for the truth. Tomb 19 refers to our mind, what's in us, the blood and DNA, D+N+A (4+14+1). Each and every one of us grows and has ideas as we relate and learn from each other, but we are actors in the process itself, we bring our consciousness and affect the communication process as we participate in it. How much of that whole learning context is purely internal we cannot estimate, but we definitely bring out inner knowledge. The mayan king is one who has used his inner vision to find the answers in one's soul and found that nirvana state of creation (the treasure). The curse is looking behind you because as you grow you change and trying to be who you were becomes an imposibility.
