13 Stitches Lyrics
The first time I saw the descendents,
they were the fastest band I'd ever seen.
No one in the crowd really cared for them;
we were waiting for The Alley Cats to play.
After a couple months I heard Kabuki Girl
on Rodney On The Rock late Sunday night.
That was enough for me,
I hopped the bus
to Licorice Pizza,
and bought
my all-time favorite record.
The next time I went to the Whiskey.
It was D.O.A. with Millions of Dead Cops.
The latter band played faster than I could believe,
but the songs sounded the same - it kinda sucked.
'Cept John Wayne was a Nazi.
And Joey Shithead was a drunk.
And John Macias beat some hippie to a pulp;
'cause having long hair was a mistake.
The third time I went to the hospital:
I needed thirteen stictches in my head.
I managed to catch about six songs of Ill Repute,
then some suicidal threw me into a post.
My girlfriend started to cry, 'cause we had to leave
before D.R.I. played 50 lousy songs.
MY blood-stained shirt smelled of clove cigarettes;
but it sure looked pretty cool after a wash!

good song, but i have one question.... in the little lyric booklet for War on Errorism it says "all songs recorded at (blah blah blah), except for 13 Stitches, which wasnt really recorded anywhere." anyone know the story behind that?
great song. its about fat mike and some of his first concerts and the things that had happened.
Descendents are my favorite band and "Kabuki Girl" is my favorite Descendents song, so this song has a lot of meaning for me. Man, I'm jealous of Fat Mike. I would love to be able to say I saw Descendents back in the day...
as for the recorded nowhere thing. listen to it, listen to the acoustics. it was probably recorded in a practice room with a four track recorder.
i love the way how the story is told in this song
on the 7inch 13-stitches is only accoustic
it was recorded at one of the bands places using a four tracker, it actually sounds fucking mint, drums are weak though.
I really love this song on the album. A lot of the songs are really heavy and they are trying to make a point (which they do and the whole ablum rules) but its great to have a more laid back fun song like this near the end.
Seeing the Descendents Live was something I will never forget, Shaded apart?Suicide machines/Descendents was the show I went to. I got to shake Dr. Milo's hand. This is also my Favorite Descendent album. awesome song
Yeah right 80smovieguy Nofx is wayyyyyyyy better than DRI. I mean DRI is good but NOFX especially there old stuff is supurb, way better the the overused 1,2,1,2,1,2 drum beat of the 80's
