The Hero Dies In This One Lyrics

As I leave here today, apartment 108
I'll always keep you in my heart.
Anderson is cold tonight,
The leaves are scattered on the ground.
I miss the seasons,
And the comfort of your smile.

Sometimes this all feels like a dream.
I'm waiting for someone to just wake me up,
From this life.

As I look out at these fairgrounds,
I remember how our family split apart.
I don't think I ever told you,
But I know you always did your best.
And the hard times,
They only made us stronger.

As I sit here all alone,
I wonder how I'm suppose to carry on when you're gone.
I'll never be the same without you,
I love you more then you will ever know.
So maybe now you finally know.
Sometimes we're helpless and alone,
But you can't let it keep you weighted down.
You must go on.

Do you ever feel like crying?
Do you ever feel like giving up?
I raise my hands up towards the sky,
I say this prayer for you tonight,
Because nothing is impossible.

As I sit here all alone,
I wonder how I'm suppose to carry on when you're gone.
I'll never be the same without you,
I love you more then you will ever know.
So maybe now you finally know.
Sometimes we're helpless and alone,
But you can let it keep you weighted down.
You must go on.

(The hardest part isn't finding who we need to be, it's being content with who you are.)

Stay who you are.
You must go on.
Stay who you are. [x4]

wow. i definitely missed this place.

this song is absolutely amazing. for a while, i thought the ataris were headed down hill. the new album proved me wrong.

this song is about his family splitting up, and how he'll always know that no matter what he'll love his whole family for always.

I think that he is writing this song to his mother. Is it that she died recently because he talks about "you always did your best" and "I wonder how I'm suppose to carry on when you're gone" sorta how single mothers stuggle after a divorce.

Brilliant. Kris is reflecting on how he didn't get to spend much time with his dad after his parents split up.

Just had to post something on this song as its simply AMAZING!!! If I could I'd make the whole world and his dog listen to this song. After hearing 'So Long, Astoria' to death I can honestly say this is my favourite. 'I'll never be the same without you, I love you more than you will ever know....' simply amazing. The way Kris sings, like all his songs, really does reach out and touch you. This keeps his songs going crappy lovie dovie, because deep down this is a honest guy. When I first heard the original 'Anywhere but here...' album, I was gobbed smacked to how simply his lyrics were to my poetry. Don't worry I'm not expecting all you reading this to care - hehehehe. But thanks to Kris his handed me inspiration to bring forth my band: Leave A Bomb. Oh did I mention that The*Ataris are fucking sweet ass lips live...??? Well, there it is.

hey, the best part is the spoken part: "The hardest part isn't finding who we need to be, it's being content with who you are.", does anyone know where it's from? Or is it something the ataris made up for the song?
