Kelly Song Lyrics
When Kelly cries
The makeup runs from her eyes
And spills the truth about how she feels inside
When Kelly screams
It usually means I'm not being me
But she's not being her
But anyway
A second chance means nothing,
'Cause nothing's learned from past mistakes
And I'm sure we felt the weight, the weight
And three whole years fall on deaf ears
I'm in no place for solitaire
Three whole years fall on deaf ears
If you can't understand our fears
It's not fair to me
Do you remember when?
Kelly, do you remember when?
When I figured it was cool, and I figured wrong
A second chance means nothing,
'Cause nothing's learned from past mistakes
And I'm sure we felt the weight
And do you know how I know?
Because all those times
We looked in each other's eyes,
And we ignored all the signs
And three whole years fall on deaf ears
I'm in no place for solitaire
Three whole years fall on deaf ears
If you can't understand our fears, it's not fair to me
Do you remember when?
Kelly, do you remember when?
When I figured it was cool, and I figured wrong
Do you remember when?
Kelly, do you remember when?
When I figured it was cool, and I figured wrong
Why do I even try? (I don't know, it's all for nothing)
Why do I even try? (I don't know, it's all for nothing)
I'm waiting for you, will you wait for me too?
Yeah wait for me, yeah wait for me, it's not fair to me
Do you remember when?
Kelly, do you remember when?
When you figured it was cool, and you figured wrong
Do you remember when?
Kelly, do you remember when?
When you figured it was cool, and you figured wrong
You figured wrong, you figured wrong, you figured wrong

I am surprised this song has not been commented on, considering that this is the most highly requested song at all their concerts... I can honestly say that even though this is a wonderful song, I think it sounds more passionate live than on their CD
great song.. but the prechorus is wrong.
'Cause three whole years fall on deaf ears Are they snowflakes or solid tears? Three whole years fall on deaf ears If we can't understand our fears, it's not fair to me
is what it should be.
this song is great ... the lyrics aren't great but the beat is so damn catchy .. i love it
amazing song. reminds me of myself at times.
great song i saw the movielife on the civic tour and they did by far the best job of any of the bands playing... and i had never heard them before. this is the song that stuck out to me live and is my favorite on the cd...
this song is only called KELLY, not THE KELLY SONG
no, it's actually called KELLY SONG and a lot of the lyrics are wrong, it's 'a second chance means nothing IF nothing's learned from past mistakes..." but anyway, it's an awesome song
I find the lyrics to be match almost exactly to my situation. I was with a girl for a while, we had a connection that neither of us had with anyone else before, then she f*ed up big time, and I haven't spoken to her for 3 years and counting. Is it a coincidence that her name is _____ ?
"When I figured it was cool, and I figured wrong"
i love this song....and i love a girl named kelly :-)
What I think I've found most interesting about this song is that it starts "When Kelly cries" as if the song is about Kelly, but later in the song switches to "Kelly, do you remember when?" as if the song is actually TO Kelly. I think the change makes Kelly a more real person, you have an image of this girl, and then the song switches to being to her and you feel a little bit more like you know her, or at least place someone you know in the shoes of Kelly. THoughts?
