Self Deception Lyrics
I'll never waste another day
searching to find the reason
why did I choose to play this game
this goes too far
I'll take no more
I played the part and took the blame
while you pretend nothing is real
life turned to night as you're asleep
blood flowing down, is this a dream?
Liar, you tempt me
I don't know what to do
no guilt is in my heart
I don't know what to do
I'm not the reason
I'll never waste another day
forever lost
no reason
he never choose to play this game
taken too far out of control
Liar, you tempt me
I don't know what to do
no guilt is in my heart
I don't know what to do
I'm not the reason
searching to find the reason
why did I choose to play this game
this goes too far
I'll take no more
while you pretend nothing is real
life turned to night as you're asleep
blood flowing down, is this a dream?
no guilt is in my heart
I don't know what to do
I'm not the reason
forever lost
no reason
he never choose to play this game
taken too far out of control
no guilt is in my heart
I'm not the reason

This is part of a story Self Deception, Comalies, and When A Dead Man walks are all part of a story about an innocent man going to jail while the guilty man runs free, but later turns him in
Self Deception is the first part of the story When a Dead Man walks in the second Comalies is the third
(This is the total Run down)
A man takes the fall for someone who is guilty The innocent man thinks that the guilty man will soon turn himself in, but when he doesnt he lashes out and is sentanced to the death penalty (Self Deception)
The man deals with the thoughts of being a "Dead Man Walking" knowing that he is going to die. (When A Dead Man Walks)
The guilty man is feeling guilty for having this man suffer for him. And seeing him already practially dead, but still waiting to be killed will forever be a blame on him, so he finally comes forward (Comalies)
well... It's just my opinion, but this song really reminds me of the original sin. you can take the "game" as the situation with the forbidden apple, taking the blame. Read the song thinking about it... it does really make sense
P.D. I apologize for my English
When a mistake is made, the best thing to do is to learn from it. When you learn from it, it is easy to say that you will let it go. Sometimes the best way to accomplish this is to accept blame and deny guilt. Does this make any sense?
Sounds like she's done something she doesn't like, she's been searching inside herself to find the reason why she did it and is beating herself up about it, and she doesn't want to waste her time doing that anymore:"I'll never waste another day, searching to find the reason, why did I choose to play this game". To me it sounds like she admits that she has done something wrong and takes the blame, but another person who maybe helped her denys it ever happened, "I played the part and took the blame, while you pretend nothing is real ". She doesn't know what to do about her problem 'cause she doesn't feel guilty, but she isn't the reason for whatever she's done wrong, "I don't know what to do no guilt is in my heart I don't know what to do I'm not the reason". I wont waste another day procrastinating, whatever she did wrong is forever lost, there's no reason why she shouldn't forget it, the other person never chose to do this, but they've taken it too far and it's out of control. "I'll never waste another day forever lost no reason he never choose to play this game taken too far out of control"
Basically it means, if you make mistakes, forget them and try not to do them as acetica said.
i couldn't say it better myself!
I agree with gothqueen. I think the something the vocalist did was fall in love with someone who was not as they seemed "liar, you tempt me", and the person they fell in love with acts as if the singer isn't real, and the singer has decided not to "waste another day" on tring to make the person they care about care about him.
that is the reason I guess lol.
I heard this is a continuation to the song "A dead Man Walks" which I think the protagonist is being punished for something he hasn't done while the antagonist knows what happens and is denying she did anything wrong or had any part in doing anything
This is part of a story Self Deception, Comalies, and When A Dead Man walks are all part of a story about an innocent man going to jail while the guilty man runs free, but later turns him in
Self Deception is the first part of the story When a Dead Man walks in the second Comalies is the thrid
This song is in the eyes of the innocent man Saying to himself why would I do this? Take the blame for him? This makes me think they had a deal (the guily and innocent man) And this man is saying that he has to do something about this and lashes out to get out of jail, sicne he shouldnt be in here Which leads to his death penalty (Expressed in When A Dead Man Walks)
I agree with Coilerfan35... But taking it as a story I think I can guess the whole plot... She (Christina) is a woman that has lots of lovers, it s the game as it is called. One of them kills another when he finds him sleeping with her "life turned to night as you're asleep blood flowing down, is this a dream?" but he puts the blame on another boyfriend of her, the most innocent of all as he doesn't even know that she is unfaithful "he never choose to play this game taken too far out of control". She is of two minds not knowing what to do, to betray the other man or let the innocent die... (chorus). Or her verse could be the innocent man's or reflect both her and him... Hope I help! ^_^
