Some folks don’t take the time to try to understand lyrics…. I think you nailed it! I’ve seen Lacuna Coil live twice, they are freaking awesome…. Got to talk to them after the show…. They were just normal folks with extreme talents…. They share their life experiences through lyrics and music ….

i like this song because. when i first hear. i saw the video and i was like hell yeah. we got metal woman singer. you dude better hold ya damn pants. because woman are taking over.
Woah you guys, this is a board about what the song means to you haha. I think this song is about being overwhelmed/swamped(as the title would have you believe) by your future, like everyone wants you to be this amazing person making you feel ashamed of everything you are and that you aren't following your destiny. This song gives a big eff you to those people and says you have to make your own destiny
I really can't understand how people can compare Nightwish and Evanescence to Lacuna Coil. Lacuna Coil shit all over them both.

Nightwish is a different category of metal, if I say so myself, than Lacuna Coil, whereas Evanescence is a bit more alternative and a softer genre of rock compared to both Lacuna Coil and Nightwish, to me at least. As for the song Swamped, where this topic should be, it seems to me to be a telling of one's own future passing by, until 'Destiny who cares/Turns around and I know it descends on me' makes it...

I agree entirely with Spyke and Jenschnifer. In this song, people are trying to make you feel guilty for the decisions you've made, as if they would ruin your destiny. This song is about realizing other people aren't always right, so let the shame they try to pin on you go.. embrace the path you choose and live everyday.

"It's just another day the shame is gone it's hard to believe that I've let it go away" I think this song is about overcoming those bad days and moving on with your life. Maybe the main character is so surprise how he/she handled it
I'm not much of an analytical person, but I'll give this a whirl...letting a great opportunity pass you by, yet you simply move on....and/or getting belittled by your peers for your past and not living to their expectation
Cristina Scabbia is such a talented female voclaist because her classical vocal training and the band complementing her beautiful vocals...not that amy lee is bad, because she's excellent...its the rest of the band that has to tone it down
This was my first Lacuna Coil song and after hearing it i stuck a Lacuna Coil IV in my arm and haven't taken it out. Definitely one of their most powerful songs they've ever made. But this song to me is about getting over a past experience that had a real impact on you hence the

it's probably a more specific to the memory so its open to interpretation.
As with most of their songs these lyrics are sorta abstract and open to interpetation like Tool or Genesis. "I like it" is an example of pretty straightforward lyrics from them.... but who cares, just listen to that voice. Amy Lee.... pfft. Blatant copy cat of this band pure n simple. They could get apples legal team n make out like a bandit. meh... Guess they're not douchebags like that... But this band deserves more respect than they get IMO...
