Empty Promises (alternate) Lyrics

Dark clouds on a rainy day
Push and shove and all will find a way
Find a way
Yellow beams and brights and suns
Fall back down on where you've begun

But then it falls away
Then you're hanging on
Then it falls away
Then you're hanging on

Carry on
I'll find you
Dreaming all
I am with you
Wishing I
Could be the one
Burning out
Before the sun

I surround you
And everything
I surround you
And everything

Dreaming lights
They always fade
I never know
When to pay
Wishing you
Believed in me
I'm hanging on
For eternity

I surround you
And everything
I surround you
And everything

But
Everything
Everything
Everything falls away
No
Everything
Everything
Everything falls away

Everything
Everything
Everything falls away
No
Everything
Everything
Everything falls away

Stop bringing me down

I knew I gave I
I pushed too much
I wanted more
I let you go
Right out the door
I would die for you
I would bleed for you
I believe in you
I need you
I

this is the demo version off of their release on Blue Worm Records.... it is FAR FAR better than the track that is on "common ground"... especially when he sings the "I would die for you" part.... more emotion.

i was so fucking disappointed with the tracking on "common ground".

I would agree that this version is better, it seems to have more emotion

I think this song is about how life deteriorates. How this person has been clinging to something and now it's "falling away" maybe a relationship. He's saying he worked so hard for it, and it fell apart anyway, even though he still has feelings for the person.

yeah, i agree... it's not a really cryptic song.
