All Else Failed Lyrics
(A throne in Heaven sat empty for 33 years.) Why? For what do we strive that will bring us closer. No human deed will show us approved. For two thousand years we've chokedon our efforts. Only tolay down and die. Things change, and things stay the same. Through allthese trials I cannot compose myself. Till there is a time no heaviness fillsmy heart. I canot ompose myself. So in all this, there must arise a plan. A strategy to subdue the schemes. For generation upon generation God retained a silence that shattered the hearts of men. And for a season, all else failed. There is no other name, given among men whereby they might be saved. In all these years when men crawled the earth choking on his tears, no composure, nor completion reigned. No self righteous cleansing. Leaning on the strength of self or another man... No human effort can bring holiness or even the strength to stand. There is no explanation for this reasoning. The only thing in life that is constant is Jesus.

good song
In the re-issue; What's the deal with the rain and clap sounds at the end of this song?
I don't know, but it doesn't compare to the original. When I saw them at Cornerstone, 2003, I actually made the suggestion that they release this album, because it's too great to be obscure. I always liked the album better than "Splinter Shards". Not saying they re-did it b/c of my suggestion, but this is one that woulda been better left alone. The little sound effects come off as goofy to me. In the original, they meant something. "We're weak now... I'm getting sick of this place..." I know the feeling.

This is a very meaningfull song. I thinks its about how many generations have gone by and the milatant efferts of Christians to bing people to Christ are not going to work on this generation, and that the older generation needs to accept change for things that need to be changed instead of doing what they think is right, but doing what Gods word says to do.
yeah I was wondering if any of you could tell me what was up with that weird crap at the end. you know like the storm and the noises and the screaming man and clapping people and stuff......
This does not do justice to the original version from the 1st album. It omits the most beautiful part of the song and you do not realize the extent of what it's about. Jessie was the only original.

There is 2 versions of this song. One of them is 8 minutes long. And the one that I like is like 15 minutes. This band is really awesome. When do they say the first line in the song. and the last line. I never heard it in the song. I didnt like the ending also.
This is a masterpiece. No composure nor completion reigned for cycle after cycle of human existence. For a season, though, there is nothing else. Know where your destiny lies after the storm. It's a long song but well worth the time.
