It's about someone special, a blessing, in disguise of a person, who's all mine, a song i can relate to.

This is my favorite song by taproot! COme on people where are all the comments?? This song is superb...its so well written.

Agreed on "Mine" being the best Taproot song on their CD. Whole CD is awesome as well. This song is amazing. You have the lyrics all messed up though GlassJaw...Hate when people correct others with minor errors but you do have many lines wrong. everyone should BUY THE TAPROOT CD!

I think "Mine" is about that one person in your life who's just kind of there, and you never realize how much you really love that person. And finally, when you do realize, you know how much of a blessing this person is in your life.

me and this guy were best friends for like a year. he helped me out of some of my hardest shit. he had tried to get w/ me once but i didnt want to put our friendship on the line. we ended up getting together and were known as the perfect couple. when we were togethre nothing could go wrong! complete bliss! he definitely is my blesing in disguise for getting me this far! unfortunately i was torn between the choice of never seeing him again or his death. being unselfish and truely caring for him i was forced to break us up teartear* i do have MINE burned on a CD he made for me and ive been listening to it religiously to get me by. the lyrics are blunt yet so deep. its great!!

I'm torn between both their albums...they're both so amazing. The first one is a little more metal...but the second has much more creative harmonies. I dunno, but I LOVE this song and both their albums.

This is my favorite Taproot song. The harmonies blow me away, and I love the interlude. It means what it says. He's in love, but he's a metal rocker. This is how he tells her.

I disagree with this being a love song. I think it's more of a control type of thing, rather than love. The first verse really hints at that. "I'm in control of everything...it's taking time but that's okay, I can bring you to my side." It sounds like she doesn't want to be his, and he's saying she doesn't have a choice. And then, the line "It’s not a question of how but more of when...You are one commodity, the choice is mine and mine for keeps." Yet again, it sounds like he's forcing the relationship on her...saying that them being together WILL happen. Calling the girl a commodity also isn't a compliment...it means using something to your advantage. The whole song just seems like a guy obessing over a girl. That is just my opinion though.

I also think it´s about obsessive behaviour. Maybe a post break up song and how he is struggling with it. He only felt alive when she was around, so he wants to own her. To me it´s also an egoistic song, as he doesn´t really care about her. The line "You are one commodity" shows it. "I´m in control of everything, it´s taken time but that´s okay. I can bring you to my side" I believe that he knows that it´s over, but doesn´t want to let go. He needs this to have a connection so he gives himself time. And it´s bringing him down. When singing "You´re my blessing in disguise" he justifies all of it and himself. She´s his blessing, he needs her, but at the same time she bringing him down - so she´s a blessing in disguise
