It continues the story of Bright Eyes. The child is pulled through a mirror (see the album art) and is confronted by some supernatural beings of good and evil. He has to make a decision on which path to take, knowing either way will lead him to a grand adventure he's been dreaming of. It ends rather ambiguously, not saying what the boy decides. I'm not too sure about the final line either.
the final line of the song says: "at least I found a friend" it's because he is looking through the mirror to himself, so he has found himself.... before in the song it says:"We're not alone There's someone else, too From the mirror's other side Reflecting the cruel part of your soul" at the end the good and the evil is inside of us and we' as a living unit' have to deal with our dark sides...and one of the ways is to connect ourselfs to our fantasy world and don't loose our imagination (that's part of the whole concept of "imaginations") dealing...
