Unbound to the pale and lifeless day by the multi-colored, multiform
A spinning anti-dream unthought. Exceeding the obsolete reality
Overheated inner shape generator. Blowing every cerebral fuse
Insanity filtered and systematized. Feeding the tools of mind abuse

Mind signal transmission peaked, distorted, bent, unrestrained
Neuro receivers short circuit. System parameters over gained
Nerve threads decoding the stream of the reality inverting revolution
The patterned untruth of nondream, the closed eye visual delusion

A frantic cellular race down the switchbacks of mind
Throttling the existenc eengine. A propulsion beyond all limit lines
Convulsive thrusts of septic energy as infected cells collide
Unleashing the video bacterial disease. The sinew conducted pseudovision

Mind signal transmission peaked, distorted, bent, unrestrained
Neuro receivers short circuit. System parameters over gained
Nerve threads decoding the stream of the reality inverting revolution
The patterned untruth of nondream, the closed eye visual delusion

Self unfolds like a disintegrating dream
All revealed but the sinister cause
My lying eyes come apart at the seams
Still how could I ever regret the loss

The self transformed into wave lengths,
Reverberating this unyielding dream. Lost in this greedy illusion
I'm forever devoured by the closed eye visual delusion

A twirling visual overload Explosions of terror and beauty
Colors of fear and pain within clash into unanything
A spectra organic frenzy setting fire to the neuro highways of mind
Revolving me away from time. A soul now rendered unassigned

The demo version of this song was the first I heard of Meshuggah and since then I've been hooked to their music. This song means a lot to me, I find it to be about being trapped in a systematic, mechanical pattern of life. Wanting to Break free of reality and feeling the initial pains of gained awareness of knowledge, as Neurorecievers short circuit, and ifected cells collide. At the end of the song, the last lyrics showed a transformation within the self and a new understanding of beauty, terror, fear, pain, etc. A sight at truth. This reminds me of Plato's Allegory of the Cave, read it if you haven't. This song uses great sci-fi imagery to convey this concept.

I'll go so far as to say this song speaks out against acid. "I'm forever devoured by the closed eye visual delusion" - how can that be perceived as a supportive statement? Terms like "pseudo-vision", "greedy illusion", "set fire to the neuro-highways of the mind", "tools of mind abuse", "untruth"; it's fantastic but horrifying imagery, and I honestly don't see how all that makes it a 'total acid song'.

..."a soul now re-entered unassigned". Fuck yeah I love this song.

If you've ever closed you eyes balls deep in a psychedelic trip you would know how well this song captures that feeling in music in lyrics.

You're all fools. Haven't you ever closed your eyes and seen your own closed eye visuals? Hes singing about Their connection to the foundations of reality And how there's a new entity coming through That is inverting our reality and destroying the world. But its brilliant the way he describes the "white nose" of CEV (CLOSED EYE VISUAL) and its artistic but pseudo scientific mechanics. You don't need drugs to induce this state Although they often help bring it into a communication with the consciousness With this inverting snake entity. Many great scientific discoveries just popped into people's minds through CEV because it's Is literally channeling the other side like a television screen gin screen complete with white noise. You guys are gonna be in for a big surprise when you die lol. Do you know what it's like to have your soul torn away and eaten by a monster ? To have your roots ripped right out of its ground. It goes beyond pain And the only way to get through it is to prepare lest you get stuck midway

I believe this song is simply a break down of dream. "Closed Eye Visuals" in my mind, refer to a dream. You see images in your sleep, and they reflect on images, thoughts, sounds, and feelings you've experienced when you're awake.

They some how "Sum" it up (hahaha, get it?) by saying that in our dreams anything is possible, becuase in your mind you have "A propulsion beyond all limit lines" and such. Your mind is made of physical matter, flesh, cells, and these neural transmitters that use physical electrons to form images in your head when your sleeping. From my examination of the lyrics, it could be exploring a possibility that the mind is always awake, just switching from one zone to another. I don't know.
