I can hear 'em whisper my name
I can feel 'em watch me every now and again
I watch 'em float along the clouds huntin' for blood stains
My souls almost out, and he can only see the pain
Wings spread on the perch they sit
Conversatin' with the Devil on some who's next shit
I feel the spirits rise when the black birds fly
When it's time to die only the crows know why

12 o'clock on the dot, my blood runs cold
Piercin' gaze through the window got me in a choke hold
Visions of death an occult sacrifice
And the ulitmate price I'm takin' my own life
Beady yellow eyes, and they see right through me
Talkin' to me, the beyond consumes me
The black crow takes my thoughts and plants seeds
The black crow plants his feet and oversees

Our Father of Shangri-La
Hallowed be thy name
If the world turns over
Save me from the fire rain
Keep me pure, keep me clean
As the Lotus grows
I ask you for forgiveness
Keep me from the crows

Black feathers, black eyes, black wings
Perched atop the cemetary gating
Waiting for me, recording my moves
Used to be one, now there are two
A couple waiting to pick at my soul
And bring me back to the one in control
The faster I run they still give chase
Will they leave me if I reveal my holy cross face

Black blood within the raven
Have I been forgaven?
A haven of crows watching, squaking
Drifting above me hawking
What lies beneathe its eyes?
Whose guiding it as it flies?
When the red moon bleeds, it feeds
Fulfillin' it's needs

Our Father of Shangri-La
Hallowed be thy name
If the world turns over
Save me from the fire rain
Keep me pure, keep me clean
As the Lotus grows
I ask you for forgiveness
Keep me from the crows

Our Father of Shangri-La
Hallowed be thy name
If the world turns over
Save me from the fire rain
Keep me pure, keep me clean
As the Lotus grows
I ask you for forgiveness
Keep me from the crows

Am I marked for death?
Do they want my last breath?
Do they really want me dead
So my soul will resurrect?
I can't help it
Prayin' to the Gods above
Purify my soul
Change the crows to doves

Wings spread out
And they cover my soul
Deaths voice rings out
And spreads through my mentals
In through my mind
And down my spine
Now my movement's the dead
And the crows are all in line

Midnight
Sunrise
Sunfall
Crows beckon
Pharoahs call
My blood hot, dripping
Crow wings
I'm clipping, snipping

I will never be afraid
Of the eyes of the dead
In my trenchcoat pocket
There's a severed crows head
I look down his neck
To see what they can see
I will finally come to grips
That they will always be around me

Our Father of Shangri-La
Hallowed be thy name
If the world turns over
Save me from the fire rain
Keep me pure, keep me clean
As the Lotus grows
I ask you for forgiveness
Keep me from the crows

Our Father of Shangri-La
Hallowed be thy name
If the world turns over
Save me from the fire rain
Keep me pure, keep me clean
As the Lotus grows
I ask you for forgiveness
Keep me from the crows

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
