One, two, three, four
I saw an old man on the street
He was in a dumpster lookin' for somethin' to eat
He moved so slow like a dyin' dream
Like a machinist who got caught in the machine
I saw this lady and she was cryin'
She said it's hard when someone you love is dyin'
I saw this kid who was about 5 years old
He was in the park all alone, he was cold
There's something coming around
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
I know this girl she's barely alive
She's all haggard she's only twenty-five
She said she never had a friend before, I said
"Hey girl I'll be your friend but who's keepin' score"
I saw this other little girl on the phone
Her mother comforts her from far from home
The little girl was very hesitant
Her best friend lie dead on the pavement
There's something coming around
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
I always end up back on the hill
Lookin' down at the landfill
I always go there when I can
My friend Marty said: "Tim you're a lucky man"
There's something coming around
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
As wicked as it may seem
As wicked as anything could be
He was in a dumpster lookin' for somethin' to eat
He moved so slow like a dyin' dream
Like a machinist who got caught in the machine
I saw this lady and she was cryin'
She said it's hard when someone you love is dyin'
I saw this kid who was about 5 years old

i like this song...it's written by someone who has a lot, they make lots of money with their work and this song is about the people who have nothing, and that's really cool, it's not something you'd expect from a "punk" band...and it's nice to hear an occasional song that ISN'T about unrequited love or boys or girls or love. yay for this song!
This is one of my favorite Rancid songs. I really like Rancid because they write a lot about their lives and street life rather than the common love songs.
amazing song. dont ignore the "other half". there are people out there who suffer and seek help, but people prefer to ignore such problems. allowing yourself to be aware of those less privileged can be rewarding.
Look, Lars Fredrickson >>>

Ignore that last message
The song is pretty good Rancid is a band that is anti-racial......anti-war......and they sing about good things alot........its nice to see it from a punk band i mean a PURE punk band........also...As wicked is also about....they was he saw Los Angeles...GodHatesACoward...You spelled Lars last name wrong it is Frederiksen....forgot the e and wrong o it's an e....get it right next time buddy ok!
I see it like in the street of somewhere who people needs help and they're all alone in their lives and this song make people think about what there doing in life !!!
to the person that said dont expect this from a punk band and punks always sing about boys an girls in love, that my friend is emo....i expect this from a punk band true punk bands sing about the truth whether it be about time spent on the street and what theyve witnessed or about the system...lars frederiksen ran away at a young age moved to boston and eneded up in CA met tim at a bar one night and was in the band...i wouldnt go as far as saying rancid are rich either
there are only about 10 comments on here before mine, but a good chunk of them are ridiculously ignorant. theonechick, if you find this completely unexpected from a 'punk' band because you're used to hearing about boys and girls and love, then you've got to reconsider your definitions of punk and stop listening to so much to sum 41. and to the character who corrected someone's spelling of a name, whoa. calm down. we're not all fabulous spellers. i get my name spelled wrong all the time and you don't see me freaking out. someone's got to get their priorities in order and stop belittling people according to their spelling. whew. rant being done with, this is an awesome song with an awesome message we should all take seriously. take care.
Yo bittersweet. You're complaining about people with crappy messages..um you just left one too. Okay I'll shut up now. I don't want to be a hypocrit. Well this song was really great. so is rancid. It doesn't need much explaining.
