I think this is about a guy who travels and sees different people and different things, but i guess there's a girl who he unintentionally keeps on meeting who is in an abusive relationship with drugs involved. "I want to go where the action is, I wanna fly through the urban blight I wanna live like a shadow in the dark and only move at night" the guy is constantly looking for something happening whether it be good or bad. he is just constantly looking down a bad neighborhood, he only goes there at night though.

She uses alcohol as a coping mechanism to feel better about her situation, yet she wont take charge to change something. "21 years old and no money to read" she is too poor to do anything

Why hasn't any one commented on this? It is a great song. Rancd kicks ass, their music is so powerfull. Loud, angry, emotional, and a deep meaning, perfect combo.

one of the first rancid songs I ever heard, still love it. I think they're best songs are one's about people down on their luck.

Great song, like most songs with Matt Freeman on vocals. The bass is also nice on the first two records, and most of the lyrics are about urban life. Probably because they never got out of the U.S. until AOCTW got them worldwide airplay.
