Why have you put so many things into my eyes
That I can't see clear
Who's paid you for telling me what I'm worth
And run in fear
It has been for me a strain to see already
What have you done
The rising noise
The sharpened smells
The deadened sight
What is it in my eyes
A piece of broken glass
Is this the time I should be on my knees for you
Is this your way of telling
Another has be found
Now I know,
It's teargas in my eyes
That I can't see clear
Who's paid you for telling me what I'm worth
And run in fear
It has been for me a strain to see already
What have you done
The rising noise
The sharpened smells
The deadened sight
A piece of broken glass
Is this the time I should be on my knees for you
Is this your way of telling
Another has be found
Now I know,
It's teargas in my eyes

Great song. I felt identificated with this song a lot:
It is about being left. The loved one said a lot of beautiful things about the singer and he couldn't resist falling in love: "why have you put so many things into my eyes that i can't see clear" but then, the loved one left him and he doesn't know why the loved one told him so beautiful words of love and now is leaving: "who's paid you for telling me what i'm worth and run in fear". The singer doesn't understand anything about the loved one and he tries to retain the love: "what is it in my eyes a piece of broken glass is this the time i should be on my knees for you" The singer asks the loved for a reason: "Is this your way of telling me another has been found", but then, the singer understand that he is being left and cries:"now i know, it's teargas in my eyes"
I'd say that it's basically about a guy that's been dumped, and doesn't understand why. It's a beautiful song, though.
sadly enough.. i feel like im in that position.. my gf recently dumped me and i really dont understand it either...
Great song, I pretty much agree with it about being dumped and confused about it and not knowing what to think.
Flawless song.

Yep, nothing more to say. I feel exactly the same. My gf broke up with me on the night of the Katatonia gig. I'm listening to Teargas ever since non-stop.
