Absolutely, dazw! I think it's about a relationship that both parties didn't really give 100% into and hurt each other. But he still loves her and regrets how he acted in the relationship.
HE LOVES HER SO MUCH. SHE LOVES HIM MORE , HE PLAYED GAMES AT FIRST. HE DIDNT KNOW WHAT HE WANTED . THEY MADE MISTAKES. NOW THEY HAVE TO FIGURE HOW TO WORK IT OUT. This is such a simple song, yet it's so full of passion, heartache, angst, regret, and yes, love. Anyone with an ember still alive for their true love must tear up when this plays ... I know I do :(
One of the moist powerful songs as far as vocal delivery I can still remember my mom pushing me around @ Fry's Food & Drug Store as a boy And this being on the radio, and just being like, "Wow." Even at the age of, like, 4, it was impacting! It was moving! The line "because I needed you so desperately!" still gets to me.

Whenever i listen to this song, i remember my parents when they use to bring me to the movie house and have midnight snack after we watch movies every friday night. That was when they were in their mid 40s. And now that they are already in their 60's, their attitudes have totally changed. And no matter how irritating my father and how contradicting my mother may be, i still can't deny how much i love them.

anybody who hears Lionel sit at the piano and pour his heart out with these lyrics knows this song is about true love ....Love that sometimes gets away from you but stays locked in your heart even long after you both arent together and yet , when you think about the times you shared , even though some of the times may have been less than perfect or painful , the LOVE you experienced is ....STILL!!!
