Easy Lyrics

Know it sounds funny
But, I just can't stand the pain
Girl, I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl
You know I've done all I can
You see I begged, stole, and I borrowed

Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning

Why in the world would anybody put chains on me?
I've paid my dues to make it
Everybody wants me to be
What they want me to be
I'm not happy when I try to fake it! No!

Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning

I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know the things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me! Whoa, oh! Babe!

That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
'Cause I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning
'Cause I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning

i like how mike patton with faith no more covered this song, and put lionel richie's vocal abilities to shame, it's a funny song though

I've seen a lot of funny shit posted on the internet but this is one of the best ever...!

Hats off to you...

The Faith No More version was very good, BUT not near as good as Lionel singing it. Also the backgrounds in the FNM version is almost laughable..

I can't believe this is all the talk about this motivational song. Well, I'll give my .02 cents then.

The song is about love, and loving someone so much you're willing to break your morals for. The author is so easy, "I begged stole and I borrowed" just to keep you happy. And it still wasn't enough for you. So, "I'm leaving you tomorrow".

That's my take. Lets see how good Chat GTP is

The song is about leaving a relationship that no longer feels right. He’s not angry or bitter—he just wants peace. So instead of staying in something that feels heavy or forced, he chooses to walk away, reclaiming his personal calm. “Why in the world would anybody put chains on me? I’ve paid my dues to make it.” That’s about feeling trapped or limited, and finally deciding to let go of those constraints.

“I wanna be free to know the things I do are right.” He wants to live authentically and make choices that align with who he really is.

So in short, “easy like Sunday morning” is about the serenity and self-liberation that comes after making a hard, but necessary decision. It's that sigh of relief when you're finally free.

Hit the nail right on the head!

The sentiment in this song is similar to Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I see it as being about tied down to somebody, anybody, anything and just wanting to live your life the way you want. you're just fucking everybody else and being yourself no matter what the cost. Just living without planning out what to say or do is easy, and you're easy like fucking sunday morning.

quite similar to the description below me, but i think it's also about stresses of expectations from others and how he can never do enough to make the people around him satisfied so he basically says fuck it. this isn't worth going through this pain and suffering so i'll just go on my way and take it easy and let myself be free
