I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door

Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted, and my arms are open wide
'Cause you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much
I love you

I long to see the sunlight in your hair
And tell you time and time again how much I care
Sometimes I feel my heart will overflow

Hello, I've just got to let you know
'Cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely, or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying
I love you

Hello, is it me you're looking for?
'Cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely, or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying
I love you

I love this song! I believe it's about a man who loves a woman but is not sure how to tell her. I think she knows he loves her and by the end of the video she loves him

It's about a guy who's tortured by the fact that the girl he loves may not have the same feelings as he does!

Especially the part that goes: 'Cause, I wonder where you are And I wonder what you do Are you somewhere feeling lonely Or is someone loving you Tell me how to win your heart For I haven't got a clue But let me start by saying - I love you!

The video clip of this song is amazing. Lionel Ritchie had a crush on a blind girl, and at the begining she rejected him and through the song they fell in love... At the end she makes out of clay a portrait of his face although she could not see him.

The Incubus cover is AMAZING. And yeah, the lyrics explain themselves.

One of the best songs of all time. Everytime I hear this song, it sends shivers down my spine and makes me teary. This is a very mysterious kind of song, it's secretive (reminds me of 'shes like the wind' in that sense) Yeah i think this is lionel's best song. Im pretty sure it's his favourite song out of all his songs. I love the passion and desire in the words and the way he sings it, also the tune. I love playing it on piano. the video clip is just classic!! he's so intense lol. I lovvvve lionel SO MUCH!!!!

This is also quite a sad song.. there's something lonely about it, uncertain. It's kind of haunting in a way, yet so incredibly beautiful and breath-taking.

daydreamer, you appear to be the only person who really captured the essence of this song.. it's not an anthem for those who are just crushing. it's a lot more serious than that. he seems tortured by this loneliness that he can't express to this person.

Very haunting and evocative.....with a bittersweet kind of quality. The lyrics are pretty straightfoward..and the song is cool because in one way it's very simple but also kind of dreamy and mysterious. And no question his best.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
