I think it's more so about Anti-Conformity. It makes total sense. Another "Blind Sheep" Born to live and Die for his Country. Screw that is all I have to say. "violence seem's the American dream " Seems like something George Bush would say...

This is talking about one man (the president) controlling an entire country which no one man should ever have that power, and he gets there through media with his broken promises (lies).

You have two options basically in America (one more than a dictatorship) Republican or Democrat, and they really aren't that different from each other nowadays, it's just an illusion to think you have some kind of choice (Coke and Pepsi).

Amongst this absurd ideology of one mind for the masses, you must sift through the generic thinking and come up with your own opinion (on anything) or just give up and be part the mainstream.

All of the mainstream media (especially the news) is biased, and are serving political parties. They pump you full of fear and mess with your logic and you see it so much that it distorts your thinking into what they want you to believe. It seems like whenever a mass movement of revolt pops up it gets shut down eventually once it becomes a legitimate threat, we're slaves in every aspect of life as everything it seems is regulated by government and controls every aspect of your life....You're not free at all.

The people in control of the world don't want you to think for yourself, that affects their agenda. Everything is a designed system formed by the powerful wealthy people of every country. Don't give in, do something....don't just be a victim of the system. Fight the system, any way you can.

War is portrayed as being patriotic, when really it's designed for ignorant people to fight under false beliefs as the people who orchestrated the war are getting rich off of weapons sales and stolen natural resources for the most part. Even locking people up in your own country is big business, it's a system in itself and every player needs each other from the offender, to the jail to the court system to the politics behind it all.

As far as the song goes, I like the message he's conveying. When he say's, "Learn in the land of the sheep/wide awake or fast asleep/can't think for yourself lie down get beat/by the media's primary function/brainwash the masses death and destruction"... I think he means (this is completely metaphorical don' take it lieteral :P) that society is like the cast of a movie/play and the "media" is the director. If the media say's the color red is bad then the majority of people will not where red... anyone get me? lol Also on this line "Violence seem's the American dream/its playing 24/7 on the silver screen/target our children (BOW!)/product to sell/when they turn 18 lock em' up in a cell"... that can add to my previous statement about media controlling soceity. If, let's say a child, see's violence he might think it's ok or something fun. Obviously it's up to the parent to teach their kid what's rigth and wrong, not music/movies/etc.. Anyway, the media aim's violence or what not at kid's b/c they know most kid's like it even though the companies saying they don't condone the violence are the same one's supplying/aiming it at kid's. Oh well that's my 1st little rant and lyric post on here. Please reply and give your opinions :)

This song seems to coincide PERFECTLY with the Kurt Vonnegut story "Harrisson Burgeron"; In it, a society is completely controlled by the government and media, and some people are quite literally blinded to make them equal to a "lowest common denominator"

Harrisson was basically a "superman"; He was very strong and very smart. If you read the story (fairly short) and then listen to the song it makes perfect sense.

This song is aswome,imo its about how the goverment brainwashes there people and how things are censors (blind my eyes). Like Nazi germany ect

i think the singer again depends on peoples lives to make himself happy . the more i read these lyrics , the more i find this guy dumb . nobody forces you to do anything or feel anything , you do that to yourself . expressing your pain is one thing but saying that how others being conformed is ''destroying'' you makes me think you need a hobby ...

also , its easy to buy into this kind of crap . it plays on your emotions and makes you think ''someone understand'' .. bleh , this is garbage .sorry , no good .
