This vacation's useless
These white pills aren't kind
I've given a lot of thought on this 13-hour drive
I miss the grinding concrete where we sat past 8 or 9

And slowly finished laughing in the glow of our headlights
I've given a lot of thought to the nights we use to have
The days have come and gone
Our lives went by so fast

I faintly remember breathing on your bedroom floor
Where I laid and told you, but you sweared you loved me more

Do you care if I don't know what to say
Will you sleep tonight or will you think of me
Will I shake this off pretend its all okay
That there's someone out there who feels just like me
There is

Those notes you wrote me
I've kept them all
I've given a lot of thought of how to write you back this fall
With every single letter in every single word
There will be a hidden message about a boy that
Loves a girl

Do you care if I don't know what to say
Will you sleep tonight or will you think of me
Will I shake this off, pretend its all okay
That there's someone out there who feels just like me
There is

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight or will you think of me
Will I shake this off, pretend its all okay
That there's someone out there who feels just like me

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight or will you think of me
Will I shake this off, pretend its all okay
That there's someone out there who feels just like me
There is...

Cheese and rice, Boxcar Racer just can't fail with a song. This song is beautiful. I think it's about being on a drive and remembering better nights with a girl. And all the good times they used to have, and how they felt. But as he's away, he doesn't know what to do cause there is someone else out there that feels the same way about her that he does. Great song.

this is such a great song by them, just like all their other songs

i think this song is about a guy and a girl that are together and they love each other very much. but then some other guy likes the girl and the boyfriend is worried if she will leave him for the other guy. he says that he isn't the best and he's not perfect but he can give her something no one else can and thats his heart and soul.

This song is absolutely amazing. My friend told me about it and i went and checked it out and loved it IMMEDIATELY! I got my girlfriend from this song and now we sing it all the time. Im in the process of learning of to play it. Im hoping that she'll flip when she hears that im playing our song for her

I hope this is their next single, because this song is really beautiful. It shows a whole another side of boxcar (if we had already seen the original side!) meaning it's a lot softer then most of their songs. I love the acoustic guitar part. The lyrics are pretty good, too. Very good song, great job Tom and Travis!

This is my favourite song by Box Car Racer. I'm not sure if I'd want it on the radio because it might get over played. The acoustic guitar in the song makes me melt. Everything about it just seems so perfect. =^.^=

I love this song! It's definately my favorite off the box car racer cd. I agree with Reckless Youth...those are the best lines. Man, this song is the best. It reminds me of my boyfriend. :)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
