I got a twenty dollar bill
That says no one's ever seen you without makeup
You're always made up
And I'm sick of your tattoos
And the way you always criticize the Smiths
And Morrissey
And I know that you're a sucker for anything acoustic
But when I say "let's keep in touch"
I really mean I wish that you'd grow up
This is the first song for your mix tape
And it's short just like your temper
Somewhat golden like the afternoons
We used to spend before you got too cool
I got a twenty dollar bill
That says no one's ever seen you without makeup
You're always made up
And I'm sick of your tattoos
And the way you don’t appreciate Brand New
Or me
And I know that you're a sucker for anything acoustic
But when I say "let's keep in touch"
I hope you know I mean I wish that you'd grow up
This is the first song for your mix tape
And it’s short just like your temper
Somewhat golden like the afternoons
We used to spend before you got too cool
Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow
Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow
Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow
Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow
Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow

I gave a copy of this song for a girl who used to be one of my best friends about 2 years ago. One summer she decided that she was "too cool" to hang out with the likes of me.
That was 2 weeks ago, she told me she still hasnt listened to the song.
bitch.
@Sicarius1 I feel you man, same happened to me... :(

"I got a twenty-dollar bill that says..."
so.. i suppose taking back sunday used this line on purpose in "theres no i in team"
the song is about the lead singer of TBS alot of the emotions in this song about him can be heard on most tracks throughout this enitre album it pretty much chronicalizes the fact that the lead singer of TBS hasnt grown up and he hasnt acceepted the fact that he was the one at fault but afterwords TBS on the tell all your friends album made "theres no "I" in team" which was te whole situation between him, jesse, and jesses girl from his point of view. he uses the twenty dollar bill line and also uses the line from seventy times 7 which was taken from an actual conversation that had taken place between the two it was about jesse and how he acted after but was also about moving on the whole sorta bros before hoes type thing i guess and apologizing for the whole thing saying in was "unforgivable" which they had did and now both bands are as close as they used to be
hmm...not sure if this song pertains to that. definitely seems like it's about a chick, just from the "no one's seen you without make up" line.

@BNfan13 The first verse is about a girl and the second verse is about John Nolan (sick of your tattoos and the way you don't appriacate brand new or me). Also he's not the vocalist for Taking Back Sunday but the guitarist, he just happened to write for the band. So it's not between Jesse and the lead singer of Taking Back Sunday but their guitarist/ songwriter John Nolan.

i saw them with autopilot off ad te starting line the other night... very good show... the energy was amazing.. if you get a chance to see them do it, its worth any amount of money:)
I saw these Long Island boys at the Lighthouse in Loveland, OH for the first time a couple days ago... I would have to say that this was my favorite of their songs... cute boys, very Alkaline Trio with Saves the Day lyrics... good stuff
i think this song is a mild reference to the book "the perks of being a wallflower" in the book, charlie's sister gets a mixtape from her boyfriend by the band the smiths.
