Oh, oh yeah, baby
Oh, oh, ay, yeah, oh

Hotter than New Orleans in
Summertime, you're so fine
You walk by now I wish I could press rewind (yeah)
You shining like a disco ball, I can't say no (can't say no)
We probably could break some laws
And not be wrong

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me
Now it's getting critical
I need you, you need me
I'm so tired of typical
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Picture us in Florida
In the big beach house, full moon out (c'mon, hey)
We probably would melt the couch when we sit down
And probably take it to the floor
Back and forth (back and forth)
We light up the room like we had a torch

Trust me when I tell you (trust me, babe)
We take the cake, us as one
Next we'll break to see your face
See my face, I'm for real
My good taste and your good shape
They relate, no questions (they relate, yes, they do)
Hold my hand, I'll hold your waist
We'll be straight, basically we're

Simply irresistible (oh, yeah, babe)
That is you, that is me (that is you, baby)
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me (I want you)
Now it's getting critical
I need you, you need me (c'mon)
I'm so tired of typical (I'm so tired)
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me (that is you, baby)
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me (you want me, babe)
Now it's getting critical
I need you and you need me (you need me, darling)
I'm so tired of typical
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Hotter than New Orleans (c'mon)
At twelve o'clock we so high, yeah (we so high)
We turn heads at every spot, with what we've got
(What we've got)
I know we got something good, something real
Us as one, just ain't fair, no way 'cause we're

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me (that is me)
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me (you want me)
Now it's getting critical
I need you and you need me (I need you, yes, I do)
I'm so tired of typical
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me (that is you, yeah)
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me
Now it's getting critical (now it's getting critic-)
I need you and you need me (now it's getting critical, baby)
I'm so tired of typical (you're gonna get weak, darling)
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me
Can't wait to get physical (you're gonna get weak, darling)
I want you, you want me (I'm gonna get weak, darling)
Now it's getting critical
I need you and you need me (oh yes it is, it's getting critical)
I'm so tired of typical (yes it is, I need you, darling)
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Simply irresistible
That is you, that is me
Can't wait to get physical
I want you, you want me
Now it's getting critical
I need you and you need me
I'm so tired of typical
And that ain't you, that ain't me

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
