Shanghaied—their explanation—by angels, they suggested that the world could move to telepathic communication if only I would get the ball rolling. Well, come on! This sounded corny as hell to me but over time I thought it doesn’t hurt to be a good sport even if they are whacked out, and this was the song they used. They contend we move in trinities and while one or two of the trio are earth-ing it, the third “angels” them. So the angel is looking for the darling one—having inexplicably lost sight of him or her but for good reason because the rest of the song is the angel calling to the darling one who’s thinking, I don’t recall having an angel. The angel is of course, invisible—hence “something’s not quite right—no one’s there at all.” Given this context, Webb’s song is a beautiful call for the darling ones to remember their angels. Now, why are angels doing this? Sorry—that was never completely clear and I was just going along for the ride to be a good sport. And are angels really doing this? Haven’t a clue. It was worth mentioning only because the memory of doing it was a fond one. Did the ball roll? Don’t know that either. I think they saw a sucker and were handing me some shit. Why ask me to assist? No idea… I know—what good am I?!!! They explain what they want to and not exactly what you’d like to hear.
