Stand up in a clear blue morning
Until you see what can be
Alone in a cold day dawning
Are you still free? Can you be?

When some cold tomorrow finds you
When some sad old dream reminds you
How the endless road unwinds you

While you see a chance take it
Find romance, fake it
Because its all on you

Don't you know by now
No one gives you anything?
And don't you wonder how you keep on moving?
One more day your way

And that old gray wind is blowing
And there's nothing left worth knowing
And its time you should be going

While you see a chance take it
Find romance, fake it
Because its all on you

While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance

While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance

While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance

I think the "Find romance, fake it" refers to the saying "Fake it till you make it". I don't know if thats right, but it's all I've got.

Without a doubt the song that got me through one of the worst times in my life (Break-Up), and the song that continues to push me to have some freaking fun with my life while I still can, you only live once, right?

Like everyone has already said the song is obviously about realizing the full potential that life has to offer us even though at times we may find ourselves in a very, very bad place.

"When some cold tomorrow finds you, when some sad old dream reminds you, how the endless road unwinds you"

Everyday life throws things at us that may remind us of a painful past experience or a current hardship.

"When there's no one left to leave you, even you don't quite believe you, that's when nothing can deceive you"

In my case this one hit home for me, even after you've hit rock bottom, eventually you reach the point when you realize that life is gonna be just fine.

"And that old gray wind is blowing and there's nothing left worth knowing, and it's time you should be going"

Once you've endured an experience you're now stronger for having lived through it. No reason to stick around, cause there's nothing left to gain from something you've already beaten.

Awesome song, awesome meaning behind it, and for your own sake, While you see a chance, Take It!, for you might not get another chance to do so.

'Fake it' to me means: In life, we are never quite fully ready for that opportunity when it arises. So go ahead and take the chance and if you have to, 'fake it until you make it'.

Definitely an anthem not practiced. Life is full or risks and chances and many are never taken.

I've always loved this song, and I agree that its general thrust is about making the most of your opportunities in life before it's too late. But I've also always been mystified by the line, "Find romance, fake it." Can anyone explain why he wants us to "fake" romance? It just seems out of place in the context of the song.

Seems this song is a pep talk between the singer and...himself. Until we can “conquer” our own thoughts and feelings, we can never be “free” (he’s “alone in a cold day dawning”, yet still questioning if he is free; or if he’s not, can get himself there (to FEEL free)? We (maybe I should say “I”) project our fears and desires onto other people, but we can never truly conquer them until we actually KNOW our selves and our own minds. Only then can we even begin to find Freedom and /or happiness, and our “place” in the world/society/our families.

Any good chances in life, make the most of them. Probably his best song.

    "Find romance, fake it"

Have sex, whenever you can- even if it means "faking romance" 'Men use love to get sex; women use sex to get love' No romance necessary. The worst regrets I have in my long life are those beautiful girls I turned down- through shyness, feelings of inferiority & so on. "When some cold tomorrow finds you When some sad old dream reminds you" "And that old gray wind is blowing and there's nothing left worth knowing, and it's time you should be going"

The pain of old age, no future, life wasted on trivialities...

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
