This song was actually written by Eric Clapton, I do believe. I love the violin track in this song. As to what it means, hmmm....Maybe he's blocking himself emotionally from being happy-giving someone else power over his happiness."A thorn between my eyes"+"Having trouble coming through, through this concrete blocks my view, and it's all because of you." I think its about fear of being vulnerable in love:all the allusions to "Waiting in our boats to set sail,sea of joy."
