Under a blanket of fear
Down a bottomless pit
I've been waiting for this night
To open my eyes

Wide awake I see in the dark
See the fences breaking apart
Get together with my old friends
Once again we breathe in the air
Escape to somewhere far from nowhere
Where the sky's been tainted red
Where the sky's been tainted

Up on a bank by a stream
Trading memories for dreams
Fading echoes and pictures
We burn at the seams

And now our wings are painted gold
They'll make idols of us yet
Empty promises they said
Reach their best before dates soon
I can see it all

I get the feeling this song is about escapism using drugs ("escape to somewhere far from nowhere"). I might be totally wrong though. "I can see it all" is kind of like he is having an eye opening experience, and "where the sky's been tainted red" perhaps suggests a psychadelic experience.

This is one of their softer songs... it's still good but it's by far not a fav of mine.

I think this song is about the music industry and maybe it's empty meaninglessness...The title "Night Vision" is a reference to only seeing at night...in this case vision is used as a reference to being themselves and not someone else "i've been waiting for this night to open my eyes" like a new start and something that continues. The lines "once again we breathe in the air escape to somewhere far from nowhere" refer to the only time they go outside is when they're moving from place to place "far from nowhere" as if it's somewhere exciting and not nowhere. "where the sky's been tainted red" is a reference to the artificiallity of the situations they're in and the things that they do or "tainted red" could be a reference to the death of themselves as they once were..a new start? I dunno I'm going on impulse here... "trading memories for dreams" referes to what they lose by living these dreams...and thats their memories which could be their friends, family and even experiences that now mean nothing..."and now our wings are painted gold they'll make idols of us yet" This describes how people build you up to something that you may not have had anything to do with..."empty promises they sold will reach their best before dates soon..." And the last line in this verse describes how things come and go as easy as food aon best before dates and how easily you can be dropped....This is just an idea of what it means and could easily be wrong... Ideas?

I dunno I think this song Is about escapeing. I get the feeling of just running away and breaking out of confines, "the sy's been tainted red" suggests to me like there is some sort of bad where he is, bloody sky the riff of this song has a way of getting me though.

I like to think of it as a song about breaking out of depression, of times when circumstances are bleak and everything seems to get darker and darker. Night vision would mean being able to imagine a happier future in the midst of a desolate present. Fences (faction) will break apart and old friends will find each other again. They'll trade memories for dreams, turning their backs on the past and looking toward the future.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
