wow, i'm surpirsed not many people commented on this song. it has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written with an amazing melody. it reminds me of a time when i really cared about a guy and i knew he had feelings for me but something held me back from telling him how i felt. eventually he gave up and i was devastated. but this song says it with meaning, you will wait forever for love.
I think this is a great song, but Blake's lyrics have really been going downhill. There used to be some mystery to them and I think that's what made them so great, but now its too obvious...oh well still love the band.

Agree with jawbrokenrhymes. it's definitely about a guy who obviously has a special someone in mind, but for some reason or another, cannot come to the reality of admitting it/telling her. straight out of the high school drama book. good song though. has a nice feel to it.
This song is by far my favorite of all the JTB songs. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Blake is my absolutely favorite person ever.

Maybe TMI. I fell in love with a friend of mine. One day I, under the influence, told him how I felt. He did not take it well. He pushed me out of his life. That week I discovered this band, the song Chinatown. I must have listened to that song on loop damn near 400 times now. For some reason it comforts me when my feelings for him hurt the most. We spoke a few months ago, he found out I like this band. He told me he listens to them a lot and sent me their song, You’re the One I Want. Those lyrics hurt. I’ve been feeling pretty down about him, it still hurts damn close to a year later. I played this album and found this song. I swear, this is him, and he wants me to wait around for him to finally be a man and tell me that he loved me too.
