This song is about those who were lost on 9/11. It's not about Neil's losses. The next song Secret Touch is about his losses and trying to cope and come to terms with them.

This is a sad song. Anyone who knows about the prior events in Neal's life can agree. You can read all about it in his book, Ghost Rider. The whole Vapor Trails album is full of stuff that refers to his time in "exile."
This song sounds like it refers to the actual events, and the idea that those close to Neil were taken too early. It is a very sad song indeed.

This song describes the events happening in my home town. It hasn't rained at all, and usually around this time, there is tons of thunderstorms rolling across here. Now, there is a change.
Last year, chem-trails owned the skies above us. The max I have observed was 8 flying across my house. Now, that number has receded to 0. We have nothing but hot-temperature days now, and we are living in a drought. I have a feeling those chem-trails releasing vapor trails manipulated our weather.
