Let's Roll Lyrics
I know I said I love you,
I know you know it's true,
I've got to put the phone down,
and do what we got to do.
One's standing in the iselway,
Two more at the door,
We've got to get inside there,
Before they kill somemore.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
No time for indecision,
We've got to make a move,
I hope that were foregiven,
For what we got to
How this all got started,
I'll never understand,
I hope someone can fly this thing,
And get us back to land.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
No one has the answer,
But one thing is true,
You've got to turn on evil,
When it's coming after you,
You've gota face it down,
And when it tries to hide,
You've gota go in after it,
And never be denied,
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
Let's roll for freedome,
Let's roll for love,
We're going after satan,
On the wings of a dove,
Let's roll for justice,
Let's roll for truth,
Let's not let our children,
Grow up fearfull in there youth.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
I know you know it's true,
I've got to put the phone down,
and do what we got to do.
Two more at the door,
We've got to get inside there,
Before they kill somemore.
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
We've got to make a move,
I hope that were foregiven,
For what we got to
I'll never understand,
I hope someone can fly this thing,
And get us back to land.
Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.
But one thing is true,

When it's coming after you,
You've gota face it down,
And when it tries to hide,

Let's roll.
Time is runnin' out,
Let's roll.

this song is very inspiring........i think the "blandness" as you put is definitely intended............its supposed to represent the solemnity of todd beamer and the actions that he and the other passengers took to save lives
Although I'm not very in to country, I love this song, a great tribute to Flight 93 on 9/11/01 and in particular Todd Beamer's famous phrase. Only question: How in the world is this one not in the "9-11: SongMeanings Remembers" List?
I'm shocked this one isn't on the 9-11 list on this site. It is so clearly about the heroes on Flight 93 and the title is Todd Beamer's famous phrase to boot. I'm not a huge country fan, but I get all charged up when I hear this song, like getting ready to be a soldier in war, which in essence, the people on that flight were.
You're a complete loser and a mental midget, mike. All bent outta shape because it turns out that Neil stands for what's right no matter if it suits your cause or not. You show an incredible lack of caring for others and laughable ignorance when you apologize to or shrink away from the very people who would celebrate your death.
He's singing specifically about the hi-jacked plane and what those heroes had to do to save others on the ground. My God you're an idiot.
My biggest complaint about this song is that it's completely bland.
All the songs kingmikeking highlighted are songs that really move people because of their passion.
"Let's Roll" just strolls along with very little passion. For all the lyrics of "time is runnin' out", there is no sense of urgency.
Ironic that this song came off an album titled "Are You Passionate?"
jumpyjack, whats your problem dude? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and there's no need for personal attacks. I happen to agree with Mike on this song, it just didn't do anything for me. Am I an idiot too?
I didn't attack him because he doesn't like the song. I attacked him because he seems to consider defending yourself against murderers to be some kind of crime. It was too harsh, though, I agree. Maybe he just missed the point of the song.
Of all the tributes and all the speeches, documentaries done for 911, this one always moved me the most from the first time I heard it. It still brings me to tears, but also makes me feel proud for those on that flight. One of the most amazing stories ever, if I saw a movie of it and didn't know any better, I'd say it was over the top and could not happen irl. It's perfect just the way it is--like any good Neil Young song he can convey deepest emotions without overdoing it. Just as a whisper can speak much louder than a yell. I can imagine being on that flight, hearing about the towers after the hijackers took over, and knowing you have to give up the lives everyone on the flight to save others on the ground.
And hey, watch it--when you said "mike" I thought you meant mike, our fearless admin! :P Anywho, don't let yourself get so upset if a few don't get a song or don't see it's worth--there's always SOMEONE who doesn't. So let's not flame over it, just explain the song, and they or others on the site will get it. :)
i was surprised and saddened that the man who wrote 'ohio' 'alabama' 'southern man' and 'cortez the killer' wrote a rally to war song like this.
'what's going wrong' neil?
