All Apologetix Lyrics
Weird Al should agree
It's all a parody
someone could have made every song we played
what if you don't like lines the band rewrites
what else do you need?
......our appologies?
but if our songs get someone to see the Son
is it wrong? is it wrong?
really? really?
writing music that's new is easier to do
but that's not the goal
let me save some souls
i change all the names
i can see no shame
then someone to me will turn (and say)
don't you guys do anything original?
but if our songs get the word to sing along
is it wrong? is it wrong?
dare we?
yeah we really feel we can
i know it's alright

THIS SONG RULZ!!!!!!!!!
Actually, Parody was ruled as fair use of a copyright by the supreme court (thanks to lawsuit filed by 2 Live Crew). It is no longer necessary to get permission from yhe original artists to parody their songs. Also, as one who has been friends with the Apologetix since 1992, I can say the guys in the band are true musicians who have great respect for the talent of the artists they cover.
To me, this song doesn't rule in any way. In fact, the band that wrote these lyrics only deserve a swift kick in the head. Why? Simple. Kurt Cobain is dead and can't defend himself or his song (the actual song, titled "All Apologies", is ten times better). I'm surprised that the surviving members of Nirvana actually allowed this crap to happen. There are better ways of ministering to people than rewriting lyrics to songs, good songs. My advice to Apologetix: Write your own music and quit stealing from bands that actually did well due to their originality.

hey, it's just a parody...why not rip on weird al for redoing smells like teen spirit? it's not a big deal, it's just a fun song!
When weird al makes a song he always has permission from the artists. The apologetix take songs without permission. Its rather immoral. What a great Christian band.
