This song my ex boyfriend told me to listen to, he said it was exactly how he was feeling. it broke my heart. He's in the military and our relationship has strained big time because of it. i can totally relate to this song.

I listened to this song for a long time. When I got iTunes, I put in the CD to import the tracks. This song came up as "Hanging by a Thread (The Day After Christmas)" and I thought it really interesting that it has a second title. It has a more interesting story to me now that I know that.
I interpret this song as meaning he's dependent on her, but she doesn't know to what extent because she doesn't see him when she's gone.
