The Human Face Devine Lyrics

it is all done wrong
or so it appears
it is all done right
eternal eyes
i am pressing on no matter how it looks
it is all planned out
understatement
lay your hands on your mouth
negativity
i don't want to hear it
your cursed tongue
this is greater than you
this is greater than me
flawless
increase time and it will all fall into place
i don't care about surrounding,
i don't care about wicked words
i don't care about surroundings,
i don't care about desire
i don't care because it is a waste of time
i don't care because it is a waste of my time
don't sell out
it all comes to these words a battlefield inside my mind
shall i take her or leave her
i will set my sites north
i will not feed it doubt
i will not be cursed by doubt or a concubine wife

i think this song is his mental battle with his desire to meet a girl and fall in love, but he constantly feels compelled to "wait for hte one" that God will show to him. "it all comes to these words a battlefield inside my mind shall i take her or leave her i will set my sites north i will not feed it doubt i will not be cursed by doubt or a concubine wife"

This is his decision to stop trying to force the pieces together in his life and make things happen, and to just trust the Lord, whether he can see hte plan for his life or not.

awesome song.

Well first off i agree with the guy that says this song is about how Scogin is trying to find a girl himself but he's decided that he must let god show him the girl.

I think if you look at the lyrics from the first half of the song it's a bit easier to tell what he means.

it is all done wrong or so it appears it is all done right

*This is pretty obvious, he's reffering to our creation. At first he is talking about how people think our emotions our flaws of god. But by the: "or so it appears" lyric, he's rethinking this and deciding that maybe God knew all along how to mold out minds and bodies. Thus the lyric: "it is all done right"

i am pressing on no matter how it looks it is all planned out understatement

*Scogin's talking about his love life and how no matter how grim it might look to him, he's pressing on because it's all planned out by god. The word: "understatement" is used really well here, because he is sudgesting that even though he said it's all planned out by god, that is an understatement in comparison to what God can see in his future.

the next few lines are simply more musings of this topic and him saying that he doesn't care about our surroundings or emotions, that everything will end up the same way god intended it to, no matter what.

I will not be cursed by doubt or a concubine wife. When i read it in the booklet, the only thing i could say was 'crap!'

ooh... i like your new perspective TwEakKR, though i acn't help thinking that the lust personification has a place in this... maybe only in "Face:Face"

is norma jean a christian band? I noticed in some of their lyrics (but I hven't read all of them) that they're a pretty DEATHCORE sound, but theres no swearing, I like that.

they sure are a Christian band without a doubt....great show too....thye have such great and uplifting lyrics...i love them no matter what mood im in, but i consider them metalcore...they dont sound death core to me but he does scream much lower in this song when he says "flawless" but he doesnt do it anywhere else on the album....i like it!
