Handful Of Redemption Lyrics
The sick and tired refrain of everyday is branding itself into you
Discouragement defined by all the times when everything just falls apart
And your skeletons have broken down the door and left you there for dead
How do we find a little piece of heaven
In our time before we find acceptance
When no one understands at this point
That a handful of redemption’s all we need
From remorse to rebirth finding it hard to think that this is really true
Ask how long should we wait before we take instead of waiting to be free
And all, all the fear all the anger falls away
All the days that were wasted cut and pasted fall away
Never walked so tall until that moment when fate and circumstance collide
When all it takes is a step that you never saw and burdens fall away

Yah. Seeing them live and being in the front is quite a treat. :)
brilliant...powerful, uplifting, just brilliant
If you are going to make assertions use evidence...not all opinions are equally valid. Not to say mine is, but I'm tired of people not actually using the song to derive interpretations... Clearly this song is about the suffering and pains of life (the sick and tired refrain of everyday)...and Nathan is asking the question..."How do we find a little peace of heaven IN OUR TIME, before we find acceptance." Its a spiritual call to arms in a sense, where rather than waiting for happiness, accepting misery in the world and feeling the need to wait for the empty promises of a mythical realm of heaven, it becomes the responsibility of us as individuals to create heaven on earth where "a handful of redemption is all we need".(all of humanity I assume by we) As he goes on to say, "how long should we wait before we take instead of waiting to be free". Again how long should we waste our lives waiting for joy (the idea of heaven), before we TAKE matters into our own hands..."all it takes is a step you never saw, and all burdens fall away"
I was at the concert they recorded all the songs at for Live For Today (7/19/02 :) )...and it was the most amazing concert being right up front on them...this is my favorite song by them and im seeing them 9/21/02 at birch hill and i cant waiiiiiit. they're such an amazing accomplished group...its unbelievable
this song is about the small things that can make the most devastating situations a little better.
it´s a real great song.but i´ve got a question: does anyone know the song "with every intention"?
OMG this is my absolute favourite song ever
i have listened to it so many times..it just means so much to me...i used to listen to this song when i was down and somehow it would get through to me " and how do we find , a little peice of heaven in our time before we find acceptance, when no one understands at this point, a handful of redemptions all we need"
lovely..i love it
I ask in my prayers, God answers my prayers, sometimes it yes, sometimes its no. We find things like this song within our heart.
This is a pretty good song... good enough to entice me to purchase the CD. Every other song on the album makes me want to use it as one of those pads that you sit a hot pot on. If you don't already have it, stay as far away from it as possible.
