This sounds like he's just pissed off at the world. Not really that he hopes it all just dies, but just that within it there's so much that's sick and twisted and won't be sad when it all comes to an end

i don't think it has anything to do with being pissed at all... first of all, that would be very much un-like Josh and his style, and second of all "in this hope" is surely not a very pissed-off thing to say... you know?
Seems that he could care less about the end of the world because he believes that he will move on to a better place and he knows that it is supposed to happen.
it's not about being pissed off, it's about wanting to have nothing to do with the world and preparing for the end of days when Christ returns and destroys the current world we live in.
