Old school for sure. Good song. Quite original in it's time
This is such a heartfelt and touching song. I love it! To me this song is about a lonely and sweet guy looking for a lonely and sweet girl, or the right girl to love, so they both won't be lonely and unloved anymore. He wants someone to share the world with and to care for, so he calls on Venus--THE GODDESS OF LOVE. He is asking Venus to help him find this dream girl, and if Venus fufilles this dear wish of his, he will promise to always love her. He promises he will give her all the love see deserves and he will care for her forevermore. THIS IS ABOUT HOPING TO FIND TRUE LOVE!
According to Avalon, the reverb on the song was achieved by recording him singing the word "Venus" in a bathroom. He joked that the song was a hit, "...from the bottom up".
