Good Times Roll Lyrics
Let the good times roll
Let them knock you around
Let the good times roll
Let them make you a clown
(chorus)
Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair
Let the good times roll(x3)
Let the stories be told
Let them say what they want
Let the photos be old
Let them show what they want
[chorus]
If the illusion is real
Let them give you a ride
If they got thunder appeal
Let them be on your side
[chorus]
Let the good times roll
(repeat numerous times to end)
Let them knock you around
Let the good times roll
Let them make you a clown
Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair
Let the good times roll(x3)
Let them say what they want
Let the photos be old
Let them show what they want
Let them give you a ride
If they got thunder appeal
Let them be on your side
(repeat numerous times to end)

Powerman 5000 covered this song on their Tonight the Stars Revolt album.
An awesome song to listen to while on your way to go party the night away!!!
THis is a song about perpetual happiness!!
This song is great...This song is about someone who spread lies...(Let the stories be told)..Let them go ahead and talk but it is okay because it is just gossip cause you know that the illusion is real and who cares what the others think...Let the good times roll cause they are here to stay...
awesome song and awesome interpretation passion4music i like it
Doesn't it say, "let the photo's be BOLD?" I think that makes more sense than old.
ohh yes this song is the summer party songg!!!!!
This song is too repetitive, I don't like it. I came on here hoping someone would maybe discuss what they thought "thunder appeal" is. Interesting phrase for sure, but what does it mean?
Thunder grabs your attention...it hold a certain type of appeal in that upon hearing it, one waits for the lightning.
Thunder grabs your attention...it hold a certain type of appeal in that upon hearing it, one waits for the lightning.
The lyric describes an illusion grabbing and holding your attention.

Ha! Pirates... :D

thunder phrase - probably sex appeal (crotch lightning?) too repetitive, i guess if you're not into rocknroll then yea. pretty much every phrase has a new synth riff or hook, not to mention different guitar counter-rhythms and melodies.
To be honest, I thought this song was a little more sarcastic and ironic. the way he sings very monotonous and down i figured it was more of like, "oh boy... the good times... yea great" very insincere
I'm into rock n' roll. Maybe the repetetive accusation wouldn't be as bad if they didn't repeat "Let the good times roll" 20 or so times at the end of the song :-)
