Big Day Coming Lyrics
Let's be undecided, let's take our time
And sooner or later, we will know our mind
We'll be on the outside, we won't care
Cause we're together, that's somewhere
And there's a big day coming, about a mile away
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait
Let's wake up the neighbors, let's turn up our amps
And we know we're used to without a plan
We can play a Stones song, sitting on a fence
And it'll sound pretty good, til I forget how it ends
And there's a big day coming, about a mile away
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait
I woke up early, couldn't go back to sleep
Cause I had been thinking of where it all would lead
So I made you wake up, I said, "Let's take a walk,
I wanna hold your hand, we don't have to talk"
And there's a big day coming, about a mile away
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait
I can hardly wait
And sooner or later, we will know our mind
We'll be on the outside, we won't care
Cause we're together, that's somewhere
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait
And we know we're used to without a plan
We can play a Stones song, sitting on a fence
And it'll sound pretty good, til I forget how it ends
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait
Cause I had been thinking of where it all would lead
So I made you wake up, I said, "Let's take a walk,
I wanna hold your hand, we don't have to talk"
There's a big day coming, I can hardly wait

Why would nobody comment on this? There's a real honesty in his voice when he sings and it meshes so well with the music. The first and last verses are both ingenious.
If only people could really be undecided and take their time instead of just jumping in.
I just wanted to mention that "Sitting On A Fence" is an actual Stones song. :)
I do find the line about holding hands to have a strange sort of sincerity compared to the rest of this song.
I like the second one better, especially live. Ira just seems to go nuts on keyboards and James does that great little two note riff for ages. It's just a great opportunity for them to rock out live. :-)
All right. General concensus. which version is better? the first version (track one on "Painful") or the second (track ten on the same)? I for one prefer the first.
I prefer the second one
I prefer the second one
I think they are both great. And the fact that they are so different makes them even better.
I agree with pumpkinhed. The first track is much better than the latter.
And that is all.
I think I prefer the second, more driving version of this song, though it seems I'm in the minority. I think the vocal delivery is really spectacular and it just plain rocks, a wall of dissonance.
Much prefer the first (slower) version. The droning distortion is just beautiful.
one.
Inspiring. I love both versions but the second one (noisey) is my fav. When the organs comes out it just blow my mind.
