Ooh, what cha gonna do now?
(blood in my eyes...)
What cha gonna do,
When the rhythm comes kickin' you,
(blood in my eyes...)
Kinda makin' me bleed ear two,
Mommy said so, deafenin', happenin'
Breathe like a disease,
(blood in my eyes...)
Gonna get you, off of me,
Thoughts of you rotting me,
(blood in my eyes...)
Animosity, burrows into me,
Boy you lost, when you made me the enemy!
Blood in my eyes,
Blood in my eyes,
I don't like to think...
I don't like to think about you, NO!
What cha gonna do,
Who ya gonna do it to,
Cause it's makin' me feel
(yea it's makin' me feel)
My will, something I kill not,
Give enough to think about you,
(blood in my eyes...)
To another like me, punk!
You're gonna get yourself knocked out,
(blood in my eyes...)
Nightmares running through my mind,
[chorus]
Watch your back, they want my brain,
Never left me quite the same,
All the memories of my pain,
Put me down, and sorry me...
So empty...
Inside me...
So empty...
Hey you the kid in my face,
(blood in my eyes...)
Care to see my crib,
Yea! Cause I'm just about to kick it,
(blood in my eyes...)
My innocents feeding your every-years,
I guess you gave no thought,
To your madness,
(blood in my eyes...)
Who you tryin' to fool now,
Who you turning into,
Thinking the insanity you knew now,
(blood in my eyes...)
Animosity, burrows into me,
Waiting for a minute,
Then I'm makin' you the enemy!
[chorus]
Rage, in my veins,
I cannot be made,
Thinking how you let me down,
(how you let me...)
Fall, in my pain,
I cannot be made,
Why don't you just let me drown,
What cha gonna do now?
(i'm left here...)
What cha gonna do,
(so empty...)
When the rhythm comes kickin' you?
(life played me...)
Kinda makin' me bleed ear two,
(so... fine...)
Nightmares running through my mind,
Breath like a disease,
(I'm left here...)
Gotta get you off of me,
(so empty...)
Thoughts of you rotting me,
(life played me...)
Animosity, burrows into me,
Boy you lost, when you made me the enemy!
Ooh, like I never knew,
(blood in my eyes...)
Distrust I grew everytime I think of you,
(blood in my eyes...)
Rape my mind, to make me blind,
Thought I would forget, oh boy,
I'll hit you with the blindside,
(blood in my eyes...)
No stoppin' it, watch me droppin' it,
Off of me, another nightmare rockin' it,
(blood in my eyes...)
Animosity, burrows into me,
Boy you lost, now I made you the enemy!
[chorus]

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
