If only Bruce had put this out as a single. it's a fantastic song and so hard to find in a quality recording.
Fantastic song! It is on the b-side to the "Sherry Darling" single. Bruce played it in gothenburg on the 4th of july 2008.
Sounds like the song is about a fuzzy relationship, the girl dreams about other men, and bruce tells her to be true, so she can get comfort.
I think this is The Boss' "It Ain't Me, Babe" (Bob Dylan). Kind of saying he has been so mythologized by his fans that they impose their expectations on him.
Some songs on the new Ties That Bind: The River Collection are absolutely awesome. This is definitely one of those. It's about a working class good guy who doesn't even hope to live up to her girlfriend's movie star ideals.
