god i love this whole first verse, funny how when you find a song, the timing of it can fit so well into your life.

i met this girl, things were great, things didnt stay great, things probably werent ment to be (although i am not one that beleives in desitiny or fate really ), but seemed to be that way, and i miss her, and i know she has moved on already, and i know she is happy, and i know its for the better, and hate all of it, but i really do hope she has a good life, a happy life, a fun life, i just wish it was with me, and i hope someday she thinks the same.

it's not only about the relationship being over, it's merely about him realizing that they are happy on the one hand, but on the other they won't be for ever, because they are too different or whatsoever. so he leaves her, being completely unselfish, because he really does love her and wishes her the good life she deserves. at first, she's desperate because of his decision, so he tries to calm her down. and she makes it, she finds somebody and gets happy. and at this point, as he is only human, the selfish thoughts come back and he regrets to have lost her. but he doesn't regret his decision to leave her, i think. if anything, he regrets his decision to start the relationship in the first place.

Nice song. I think this has 3 different meanings sung in each of the 3 different verses.

1st verse: He is breaking up with a girl. 2nd verse: He is with a new girl, and he's telling his old girlfriend that her time will come. 3rd verse: He regrets his decision to dump his old girlfriend, but he can't do anything because she now is married + has children

this is one of my favourite songs, pity not many people have heard it. which is probably why theres not many comments. it puts a hopeful face in a sad and regretful situation. overall, great song.

one of my favourite songs. reminds me of my ex. we split up and decided it was for the best. then we started to get closer again, but i didn't want to be back there, so i moved on and tried to think less about him.

now i wish we had worked at it. what we had was pretty great and, given another shot, we could make it again.

but basically i agree with the top comment. spot on.

"Now im regretting the moves that I made". that just sums it up. we always regret the decisions we make.

i like the tune to this song, but not so much the meaning. the guy singing this song seems really selfish. he breaks up with her and gets a new girl and tells her she'll be happy someday. and when she's moved on, he starts to realize that he actually wants/loves her. i don't know... whoever he is, he annoys me...

this song is about how he loved her and she him but he has too many problems and he thinks he not good for her so he breaks up with her. Then after awhile he regrets his mistake because he realized he was alot happier with her than without her. He just gave up thinking that they weren't meant to be with each other because of his problems. They were unhappy at the time and now he's realizing, after some time, that if he/they would have worked harder they could have made it together. But he's happy for her through out because she has a new life.
