I relate to this song so much at the moment...

This song is about escapism to your imaginary place where you feel safe. And it comes from her diary :D ! I don't know what to think about those lines "Do I love you?". For me they are the most inconsistent with the rest of the song's topic but I suppose that she minds Tom Petty here ... Well, she's been always open about her lovers and even her affair with Mick Fleetwood was known a little. But here she sings " (...) well, I always did, everynight, nobody knows nothing about it". So, while some people knew about all her boyfriends here she's got to be singing about something that had to be a big secret and all clues lead to Tom Petty who was not only married but every time Nicks was around him it was a little controversy (yeah the beginning of their friendship wasn't that cool). But I wouldn't say that she was in love with him, she just wanted to befriend and work together with him. Just like in her song "If You Were My Love" in which she's singing how it would be nice to be a member of The Heartbreakers just for a while. But I suppose she may also be singing about Robin or just that imaginary place that she "loves" XD. Nevertheless it's a great song and I think my favourite line's "So to the red rose grows the passion" - magic.
