She takes her time when it's time to get ready.
Always has her way.
Always leaves me waiting by the phone.
She told me more than once to take it slow
and I said OK.
But lately i've been sleeping all alone.
I'm not breaking up inside
I'm much to proud to moan.
Baby please come home.
I feel a little lucky so I try to play it cool.
I think she laughs inside.
With the words that burn like fire in my mouth.
Try to be a man like i got the master plan, night out on the town.
Drink and dance and we can turn it out.
Whoa, Maybe it's how your body moves I just don't know,
Maybe it's just the way you move so slow.
(Phone Dialing)
[Hello?]
[Hi it's me]
[I thought I told you not to call me here]
[I know I just really needed to talk to you]
[Get a clue babe, there's nothing to talk about.]
(Click!)
Ask me why I play myself play myself for a fool.
Swear I would do most anything.
Walk a mile to see her smile.
Walk a mile just to rock for a while.
Babe I'm thinking with my ding-a-ling.
Whoa, I've been doing some thinking,
now I just don't know.
Maybe just the way you move so slow.
Maybe cuz you move so slow.
Maybe cuz you move so slow.
But sitting on the verge of tears does not become my 22 years.
You took my shame, and you took my pride,
and now you gonna take me for a slow ride.
but uh, uh. Waiting, waiting on the phone.
Got the words that burn like fire in my mouth.
Come on down reggae style,
wind up your body like a bass line wild,
drink and dance and we can turn it out.
Whooooaaaa, I'm not going crazy but I just dont know,
Maybe cuz you move so slow. (x3)
Like love,
move nice and low.
Slowride! (x3)

This really is one of Sublime's best and I've heard them all. It's just so damn smooth and has one of the best beats. I don't think this girl was interested in Brad as much as he was, though. I'm really surprised this never got on one of their real albums. It was thrown on SHS, which is a great CD, but you'd think this would have been a song that would have been put in place of say, I Don't Care Too Much For Reggae Dub on Robbin the Hood.
Words that burn like fire in my mouth for some guys I LOVE YOU.
I thought the words that burn like fire in his mouth were "Come on down reggae style, wind up your body like a bass line wild, drink and dance and we can turn it out." but he couldn't because he didnt want to freak her out or rush her
Don't know too much about Sublime lyrics, but knowing Nowell's fate, this song may be about Heroin. SLOW RIDE; this could probably be argued for most songs about women. The similarities of women and drugs make them almost synonymous.
you fuckers this song is the best you fuckers
i love this
you fucker that's a cocky way to express your opinion..
ya.. this song is way groovy! love the feel of it.. it's great :)
this is one of the best sublime songs...i can't believe there's not more comments. anyone can relate to wanting someone who isn't ready to settle down but you find them completely irresistable, and even though you know you're gonna get screwed over, it's worth it
any man in this world should be able to relate to these lyrics. He's geeked about a girl, wants to take her home and is getting way too wound up about her... she's not so eager and shuts him down.
Have to love Sublime's story-telling style. Brad was a hell of a poet.
