Superpowers Lyrics
Half a pound of potato chips,
and a beef jerky log.
I press my face to the window,
a wrapper sticks to my shirt.
Eight people in a stinky van,
a couple more couldn't hurt.
I've developed a taste for bread mold.
Ride around in a van,
don't take a shower for six weeks and...
ask us for an autograph.
We sing, we dance we'll make you laugh,
don't you want to be like us?
ask about our rock and roll,
our hair , our clothes, hobbies, and pets.
Does he have a girlfriend yet?
just because I fell off the stage,
and kind of by accident, I broke the promoters legs.
Sometimes we have a deadline for writing our songs.
Five minutes left to write this one la,la,la,la,la,la,la.
Every floor looks the same as last night.
You wake up, you drive,
you play a show, and then you sleep again.
sometimes Jack Keroac.
I wanted to be famous,
now I want to take it back.
don't want to meet the pope,
I just want to share with you,
how we got this peace and hope.
I once wanted to be famous,
now I want to take it back.
This song means super awesomeness to me!
its about the hard times of being a touring band on the road and the follies and hard times you face. i love FIF and this song rocks!

Mmm, Bacon Bits and jalapenos.
no...no...no...
This is about how even though they're famous, they're still just normal people. They don't have superpowers.
This plays into why Reese dosn't like to give out autographs
Five Iron Frenzy has always just wanted to be seen as regular people. They are telling you that the things they do on a road isn't anything special and the fact that they right music and people love it doesn't really much.
interesting the whole last section of the song you can see Reese starting to feel what ultimetly lead to the band breaking up. He doesn't care about being famous, what he wants is to share the gospel to everyone, his peace and hope. Im sure this feeling started early, and as the band became so popular and their message not completly realized they had to break up.
I love this song. Especially the end :) Quite self-explanatory, in my opinion. :/.
