I'm in conniptions for the final act you came here for
The one derivative you manage is the one I abhor
I need a minute to elaborate for everyone the
Everyday bullshit things that you have done

Your impossible ego fuck is like a
Megalomaniacal tab on my tongue
You fuckin' touch me I will rip you apart
I'll reach in and take a bite out of that
Shit you call a heart
Ya ya ya

I don't mind being ogled, ridiculed
Made to feel minuscule
If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful
The only thing you really know about me is
That's all you'll ever know

I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself

I'm turning it around like a knife in the shell
I want to understand why, but I'm hurting myself
I haven't seen a lotta reasons to stop it
I can't just drop it
I'm just a bastard, but at least I admit it
At least I admit it

I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself

Kill you, fuck you, I will never be you
Kill you, fuck you, I will never be you
I can't fuckin' take it anymore
A snap of the synapse
And now it's fuckin' war
Kill you, fuck you, I will never be you

I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself

I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you blame yourself

Who said that you have to be depressed to listen to/enjoy Slipknots music? I'm not depressed and I still like Slipknot.... does that make me a foney?

    Quite deep text imo...

This song really speaks to me, I'm really sick of the pathetic people siriously, being the "Derivative" and having a "0Shit that they call a heart". and they talk shit about me while; "The only thing you really know about me is... ...that's all you'll ever know"

Kinda also want to quote from The Heretic Anthem for the quote above; "Everybody defamates from miles away But face to face, they haven't got a thing to say"

So I'd say; Kill you - Fuck you - I WILL NEVER BE YOU@

    Song Meaning

The song is about hypocrites. The quote "kill you, fuck you / I will never be you" is directed to followers - people who are not being themselves, and trying to fit in by acting like someone else. The quote “I know why you plague me” means that he knows why people are messing with him and he is sick of it and of all the posers in this world; people doing things for popularity and so on. The quote “I'll reach in and take a bite out of that shit you call a heart,” is just warning everyone not to push him any further or else he will snap and kill him. The quote “I know why you plague (yourself)” is informing the person that he knows why he is messing around with him, and that he has had enough and he cannot be pushed around any longer."

Hey, Kraven, to correct you, it's Serj. Close enough. And I agree that Dez's voice rocks out. In fact, I'm just an angry mofo looking for an outlet, and bands like Slipknot, Coal Chamber, SOAD, and even Adema and Korn, are great for that outlet. I'd rather scream along to a song than go out and fracture a ton of skulls to get the same relaxing calm afterward. I applaud the screamers out there. Wreck your vocal cords, guys, 'casue we love ya for it!

to me singin is overrated. i like more interesting vocals, hence my preference of slipknot over paparoach. the growling carries more emotion, makes it to where you can almost hear the pain and desperation in the artists voice. and serge (sp?) from soad has an awesome indescribable something in his vox that i like a lot too... and the dude from coal chamber. that throaty scratchy sound is great. by the way, is this the same roacher from the rocktoons message board?

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
