If I could, I would have begged you
In gathering these incomplete thoughts, it seems to me that wolves is about someone who is an outcast in their society. They feel they have no purpose, and whatever they do have no consequences. In realizing that, it angers them, and they vow to strike their society back (like wolves). Wolves hide in the dark and strike back those of the light... In a way, these lyrics are the exact same situation, but mixed with feelings and emotions.
This is SUCH a good song, but I have NO clue what it means.. :/.. Especially "Hydra dead times six cowering".... I guess it means that this person acknowledges to basically nothing?.. And some other stuff.
Not everything has to be interpreted or analyzed to be enjoyable. ;)
As long as you enjoy a song that's all that matters. If the song's meaning is something with meaning to you it just makes it even better.
