ok, i have a different perspective.... i think its about a guy who had a good relationship with a girl, but complained about the typical stuff...(hey - where would we be if we DIDNT complain about who we dated?! lol) so as a way out of the relationship, he either broke up with her or cheated on her or sumthing

(s f i made a mistake I thought I needed a break the truth is I'm such a dick it's broke and can't be fixed)

and then he misses her, and regrets what he did

(hurts to break up she was stronger all my friends say please don't love her what did I gain now I miss her so)

and he can't let go...he's in pain cuz of what he did, and yet he wants her back and knows (or thinks) that they'll never be back together

(if you want the pain to go away better suck up your pride admit you lost her let her go move on let her go)

But hey, that's just me..... i could b waaay off base

It's such a rare song in that it shows a breakup from a guy's perspective, which isn't common play for most songs. Having been in such situations before, it's easy to relate to, and it's all quite understandable.

Judging by the overall tone of the lyrics, the girl has the guy convinced that he's a complete asshole, and the real antagonist/catalyst for their break up. It's painful for him to think of such a relationship with a girl that he loves, mainly because of all the pain he was subjected to both throughout the relationship and afterward. But he still wants her more than anything else, and he can't just let that go.

but I can honestly relate to this song. Most of us are total bitches to our guys, and this song is really true. it makes me feel bad!

This song isnt about the girl being mean to the guy. It is about the guy who is scared of relationships and dumps the girl. Then when matures and figures out he wants something long term it is too late. She is taken and rubs it in his face.. I am dealing with this right now. But i'll take tom's advice and let her go.
