Anthem, Pt. 2 Lyrics
Everything has fallen to pieces,
Earth is dying help me Jesus
We need guidance, we've been misled,
young and hostile, but not stupid.
Corporate leaders, politicians,
kids can't vote, adults elect them
laws that rule the school and workplace,
signs that caution, sixteen's unsafe.
We really need to see this through,
we never wanted to be abused
We'll never give up, it's no use,
if we're fucked up you're to blame
Let this train wreck burn more slowly,
kids are victims in this story
Drown our youth with usless warnings,
teenage rules they're fucked and boring
We really need to see this through,
we never wanted to be abused
We'll never give up, it's no use,
if we're fucked up you're to blame
Everything has fallen to pieces,
Everything has fallen to pieces,
Everything has fallen to pieces,
Everything has fallen to pieces,
Everything has fallen to ...
We really need to see this through,
we never wanted to be abused,
We'll never give up, it's no use,
if we're fucked up you're to blame!

This is about how today's youth is not being educated correctly or treated with the respect that is deserved. This brings up the fact that, the Teachers, parents and adults make the rules. So, why are they mad when kids make mistakes or turn out bad as one might say. "If we're fucked up your to blame." If the youth of today were cared for better, then perhaps there will be a better tomorrow for everyone. On one hand I agree with this message, that the youth of today need more guidance and attention. But then again each person is responsible for thier own actions.
don't blame me. blame those who brought me up. Kinda childish.
But I think blink sounds mature-type in this song. and I like it.
@broken_sound its not really childish, its them talking about how adults are doing a terrible job of raising the younger generation and them blaming us. they have a terrible school system, they let just about anyone rais a child and they let them be raised in these terrible situations. it is the fault of the older generation for not trying to fix a broken sytem and blaming there kid for being a victim of the broken system.

im FUCKED UP,i blame my parents!
i don't think this song is about blaming your problems on your parents i think it's just saying that all of our generation went to the generation before ours schools there churches listen to the music and watch the shows and movies they put out there so if we're fucked up it's because we had to abide by all their rules and laws and listen to all their crap
this song kicks butt
agree with wendy clear on both messages...its a good song telling how we need to push off the rules and the regime set up by a different generation from a different time
hmm it makes sense about how its about youth being controlled by someone other than themselves...i agree with uncgurl and wendyclear. blink is good. one question though....arent tom and mark almost 30? a little old to be writing songs about being a teenager and saying "we."
its written about their generation, so "we" would still be in the right context

They were 23 when they wrote that, if I'm right.

It's saying, it's not all our faults, and our parents are too blame for hiding us from reallity.
wendyclear is shockingly correct. its not that we blame them and take no responsibility, its that we they chose how to place our foundations, and thats one thing we dont choose.
