Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
this is a top tune! i love the lyrics and eminem has such a way with words. my favourite bit is actually the harmonising by the female voice. anyway, never actually dun drugs but i have been around ppl wen they hav. it wasnt funny at the time, for me anyway, but this song has helped me lighten up and see the funny side, even tho i know that "drugs r just bad mkkaaaaaaaay??!!" anyway, just showin my appreciation for em's lyrics. love him, genious!
Great song with some honesty in dealing with drugs pretty funny too
Its funny and it's probably alot like being on all those drugs. Fav line: "I'm going to a pretty place where the flowers grow, i'll be back in an hour or so." Eminem really has a way of putting words together and thats why I like him.
This song reminds me of every good party I've ever been to, and reminiscing about high school years. :)
i used to listen to his album before goin to a party + this song was the one that floated inside my head when i was...partyin' :)
this song is so true... we're all gunan die eventually... make fun of ur life while u still got it... thats how i live my life but then again my like almost completely sux but then again i was high when i wrote this to u...
This song is a fun song but has a deeper meaning to it. My fav lyric is "It don't matter as long as you get where you're goin, Cause none of this shit is gonna mean shit where we're goin" so true. But it says we have a choice to live it up and that's perfectly fine too.
This song has such a great beat! i don't do drugs but this song just consumes me in its beat
i am a drug addict.. a clean one now.. and this song helped me to get clean and stay clean.. cause i realized what i was doing to myself with the drugs.. what i was doing to other people... and that Yea i have a choice to not do them... everyone does... this is just the choice that is right for ME!
theres no such thing as a clean drug addict. you shouldve started off with "i was a drug addict but i am clean now" but anyways. his information on X isnt accurate. pure MDMA might have a future in hospital as morphine does. it was first discovered by the germans in 1913/1914's and then in the 70's it was used in america for marriage counseling and then the army actually used it as a truth serum. but anyways his message is do whatever you want because its your life and he says he wouldve done more shit than people said that he shouldnt. if you have ever taken E it is probably the greatest thing ever invented. Molly (pure form of MDMA) is a lot healthier too and neither are addicting. i have tried many drugs and i can not think of too many that would kill you from trying but then again you need a reliable person supplying you with these.
