Lull Lyrics

You stop the crowd
I cried out to break the spell
You wake and smile
I just snapped and lost control

Distracted by irrelevance
The stress and the tension
The stress and the tension
I'm in a lull

There's nothing so dull
As talking, talking about yourself
But what I meant to say
I'm sorry that I lost control

Distracted by irrelevance
The stress and the tension
Crawling through the keyhole
I'm in a lull

The way Thom sings "the stress and the tension" just breaks my heart. I have the most carefree life imaginable but I CAN'T MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN, and it has taken a toll.

I thought I was this big Radiohead fan yet I never heard this "Karma Police" B-side until the OKNOTOK reissue. I was in shock the first time I listened to it when it prematurely, abruptly ended: It's really over? How could they do that? Fortunately, the brevity of "Lull" is part of its mystique now. I can only hope this phase of my life will follow likewise.

@NewReligion73 Like it's too much to bear so you make it seem sense to others "stressed" and overstimulated. Just categorizing his feelings instead of the misunderstood poeticism he tries to incorporate for musical feel.

@NewReligion73 His voice is like a lullaby in this. This; now this lyric, It broke my heart to "the stress and the tension" i sort of felt this heavy weight with higher vocals, and in this specific line, I sort of heard him, like he was crying and silently begging for silence.

from Greenplastic.com:

A very simple song featuring Jonny on the xylophone, "Lull" is personal in nature. It sees the singer inexplicably losing control, for which he is apologetic. The band have not yet officially played it live, but did soundcheck with it on some of their US August 97 dates.

It seems to be about the time when you feel absolutely useless and can't control anything, can't do anything. Just lifeless, maybe, purposeless, in a funk, waiting to get out.

Too short. It's so sweet and honest, and about two minuts in it ends. Its like "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix. So goood.... my favorite B(orA)side.

I hear curls-of-sea sounding like The Doors.
